Health Events At Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary
Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary offers a wide range of events, from learning how to care for backyard bees, to goat yoga, to guided hikes. For those looking to invest in their health, CVH Animal Sanctuary is offering two events in March to help stretch the muscles and open the mind.
On March 7, 12:30-1:30 pm, CVH Animal Sanctuary will host Qigong for Beginners. Julie Moffat will return and continue to educate participants about the basics of qigong and the many benefits that can come from it. Rooted in ancient Chinese healing traditions, qigong is a mindful self-care practice that weaves together slow, flowing movements, relaxed breathing, meditation, and soothing self-massage to awaken and balance the body’s natural energy. In this beginner-friendly class, participants will learn the foundations of a simple, sustainable qigong practice designed to nourish both body and spirit. Attendees will explore gentle movement, self-acupressure, lymphatic massage to support immune health, guided meditation, and sound healing for deep vibrational relaxation and restoration. Practices are accessible to all adult ages with options to participate standing or seated in a chair. This program is for ages 18 and up and costs $35 per person.
Indoor Goat Yoga returns to CVH Animal Sanctuary on March 21, noon-2 pm. Participants in this class will be guided through a gentle yoga session with a few curious goats from Bradley Mountain Farm added into the mix. The March class is meant to help attendees ease into spring and explore gentle movement and mindful breathing. The class is suitable for all levels and will be led by Heather Morgado of YogaSpace. The class is limited to 24 participants and is appropriate for ages 10 and up, though children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and towel to protect the mat from any unexpected messes. The cost is $35.
Both classes will be held in Catherine’s Learning Barn at the sanctuary, 8 Commerce Road. For those interested in either of these classes, go to cvhfoundation.org for more information or to register for the class.
