PD Investigating Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins At Fairfield Hills
Newtown Police Department responded to the Fairfield Hills campus earlier this week following reported thefts from multiple motor vehicles.
The department was contacted after an individual parked in a lot on Keating Farms Avenue, between Trades Lane and the cul de sac, and observed several vehicles with smashed windows, according to a release issued to The Newtown Bee February 19. The incident was reported just before 3 pm Tuesday, February 17.
Four vehicles in total were located with smashed windows in the parking lot. Each vehicle had a bag or wallet stolen out of it.
Officers located each of the vehicle owners and are investigating this incident. Anyone with any information regarding the incident is asked to contact Officer Morelli, 203-426-5841.
Residents are reminded to keep vehicles locked and store all valuables out of sight. Although uncommon, these types of crimes typically occur in public parking lots during the daytime hours in vehicles with valuables stored on the seats or otherwise plainly visible.
Readers are also asked to report any suspicious behavior to Newtown Police Department.
