Nighthawk Boys Win, Girls Fall In SWC Basketball Quarterfinals

Both of Newtown High School's basketball teams were the No. 4 seed and hosted No. 5 Kolbe Cathedral of Bridgeport in South-West Conference Tournament quarterfinals on February 26.
The Nighthawk boys won 65-53 and will visit top seed Notre Dame Prep in Fairfield in the semifinals Saturday, February 28; tip is at 7 p.m. The girls fell 56-43 despite 20 points from Sam Diaspro and 12 from Ana Morris.
Newtown's boys were led by James Glynn who scored 24 points; Aidan Walker and Luke Stewart both dropped in 14.
