Juneteenth Closings & Early Deadlines

Juneteenth will fall this year on Friday, June 19.

Federal Reserve Banks and branches will be closed.

There will be no regular United States Postal Service mail delivery.

Town of Newtown offices will be open, as will C.H. Booth Library, Newtown Community Center, and Newtown Senior Center.

The offices of The Newtown Bee will be open. Due to the postal holiday, deadlines for the June 19, 2026 print edition of the newspaper will be affected.

Real estate display ads will be due by Friday, June 12, at 10 am. Display ads and in-column real estate classified ads are due by 10 am Monday, June 15. In-column regular classifieds must be received by noon Tuesday, June 16.

Items for Business, Education, Health, and Sports must be received no later than noon Monday, June 15.

General news, calendar listings, Enjoy items, obituaries, and Letters to the Editor must be received by noon Tuesday, June 16.

Juneteenth will fall this year on Friday, June 19. The holiday will have an effect on some businesses, and will create early deadlines for our June 19, 2026 print edition.
