The Friends of the C.H. Booth Library’s book sale celebrates its half-century mark this July. Joanne Zang founded the sale in 1975 and sold a tableful of books during Newtown’s Labor Day parade. The sale has grown from that humble but successful beginning into a multi-day event attracting book lovers from across the country. Denise Kaiser, the current Book Sale chairperson, reminds readers that this year’s sale kicks off on Friday, July 10 and runs through July 14. More coverage about this milestone anniversary and this year’s sale will be available in next week’s print edition of The Newtown Bee. Learn more about the sale at boothbooksale.org.
