To The Editor:

After careful consideration, extensive research, and the rigorous scientific process known as “having watched Connecticut politics for way too long,” I've concluded that Mitch Bolinsky is the best choice for Newtown. It has nothing to do with Republican verse Democrat. It is because Mitch is the only hope Newtown has fighting against things like tax hikes, energy hikes, control over homeschooling, and 8-30g housing mandates. As much as I like Michelle Embre Ku, adding to the super majority in Hartford defeats the purpose. Does anyone really think Michelle would buck the system and vote against the democrat majority? It is unfortunate, but she would be nothing more that the quintessential rubber stamp.

In the past fourteen years serving as Newtown’s representative, Mitch has accomplished so much:

Helped establish Connecticut’s Office of Dyslexia & Reading Disabilities.

Championed the CARE Act for Seniors providing home-based assistance as an alternative.

Strengthened protections against financial exploitation of seniors.

Secured state funding for Newtown projects including; school safety, indoor air quality, Hawleyville sewers, Fairfield Hills streetscape, Sandy Hook streetscape, and other local infrastructure projects.

He restored $4.89MM after a gubernatorial cut.

He is a founding member of Connecticut’s I/DD Caucus advocating for those with autism.

His legislative work includes working on domestic violence protections.

He helped protect Newtown’s Horse Guard.

And has participated in four consecutive no tax increase budgets.

His opinion is highly valued in Hartford. This past year, Mitch was involved with the Aging Committee, where he and his Democratic committee co-chair passed legislation that achieved near-unanimous passage. His 2025 AARP award specifically recognized his work on long-term-care quality and nursing-home oversight.

If you value experience, independence, fiscal restraint, and someone who has always had Newtown’s best interests at heart, you will vote for Mitch Bolinsky.
