On Sunday, June 1, at 2 pm, Bob Praver will host a screening of Hitler’s Children at Congregation Adath Israel.

Mr Praver is the father of Rabbi Shaul Praver, the spiritual leader of the temple, located at 115 Huntingtown Road.

The 60-minute documentary is a 2011 Israeli/ German production. It is mostly in English, but does have some segments that are in German with English subtitles.

The film is about the children and grandchildren of Adolph Hitler’s henchmen: Heinrich Himmler, Hans Frank, Hermann Goering, Rudolf Hoess and Amon Goeth.  The offspring of those men have inherited a legacy that permanently associates them with one of the greatest crimes in history.

The five descendants discuss their torn feelings between loyalty toward parents versus their utter revulsion to the crimes their parents and grandparents had perpetrated.

The film provides a rare opportunity to see a little into the minds of these mentally tortured people.

Mr Praver will lead a group discussion following the screening.

Refreshments will be served.

Admission is free and open to the general public.

For additional information contact Rabbi Praver at 203-209-4662 or rabbirock@optonline.net.

Hitler’s Children is a documentary that reveals, for the first time, the ways in which family members of high rank senior Nazi officers from Hitler’s inner circle struggle with the burden of carrying a terror-inducing surname.
