Emanuel V. Pavone

Emanuel V. Pavone, 82, of Southbury, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died at home, surrounded by family, on March 24.

He is survived by a son, Daniel Victor Pavone and his wife, Jo-Ann, of Newtown.

Born in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Peter and Rosaria Pavone, from Palermo, Sicily. Before enlisting in the US Army during World War II, he worked at Remington Arms Company. He proudly served as a corporal in the second armored division under General George Patton in campaigns at North Africa, Sicily, and Normandy. After World War II, he became an award-winning agent with AllState Insurance Company in the Fairfield County area.

He retired in 1981, after 33 years of service. A gifted athlete, he was known in the Bridgeport area semi-professional football and baseball leagues, and played with the original Bridgeport Rosebuds. He was an avid golfer, and played at Fairchild Wheeler, Oronoque, Heritage Village, and at his winter home in Sarasota, Fla. He was a former member of the Trinacria Society and the Italian Community Center. His singing accomplishments included entertaining troops overseas and barber shop quartets with the Parlor Rocks, a local group at the SPEBSQA.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Theresa (DeRosa) Pavone; three other sons, Manning Richard Pavone and his fiancée, Helen O’Brien, of Stratford, Peter David Pavone of San Diego, and John Phillip Pavone of Sioux City, Iowa; two daughters, Nancy (Pavone) Ryan and her husband, Terrance, of Aldie, Va.; Sharon (Pavone) Miller and her husband, Robert; grandchildren, Sean and Seth Ryan, Tracy (Pavone) Torreso and her husband, Jay, Jennifer (Pavone) Ehlers, and Adriana, Laura, Lisa and Alec Pavone; great-grandchildren, Christopher Birk, Conner Chambers Ryan and Kendrick Jane Ryan; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved first wife, Nora Helen (Callahan) Pavone, and infant daughter; and three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services took place on March 28 from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, to St Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, with full military honors.
