Frances V. Beechel

Frances V. Beechel, 85, of Nunnawauk Meadows, Newtown, died July 8, in Danbury Hospital. Mrs. Beechel was the wife of Vincent L. Beechel.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 20, 1925, a daughter of Frances (Hatzfeld) and Michael Cuffe.

Frances was a longtime resident of Queens, N.Y., where she raised her family. She also previously resided in Fort Lauderdale and Ocala, Fla. She had lived in Newtown the past ten years and was a communicant of St Rose of Lima Church. Frances volunteered for the United Way and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Vincent L. Beechel, Jr, and his wife Beverly of Queens, N.Y.; two daughters, Patricia Froehly and her husband Kenneth of Westport, and Donna DeJoseph and her husband John of Brookfield; a sister, Viola DeBetta of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 13 in St Rose of Lima Church. Interment was in St Rose Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by Honan Funeral Home of Newtown.
