Immaculate High School hockey players Steve Murtha (of Newtown) and Clark Neugold were named to the CIAC All-State Division I team.
Murtha (First Team, All State) scored 13 goals and assisted on 15 others for the Mustangs, finishing fourth on the team in offense despite playing the majority of the season on defense. Murtha â who was whistled for only three penalties â played throughout the postseason with a major shoulder injury yet was still solid on both ends of the ice.
Neugold (Second Team, All State) was strong in the net, playing 593 minutes and turning away 410 shots.
Murtha and Neugold â both juniors â were also named to the South-West Conference Division I team along with teammates Mike Leone (of Newtown) and Sean Haggerty.
