Even though we are living in Florida, our hearts belong to Newtown and always will. The newly consolidated Probate Court District consists of Newtown, Ridgefield, Redding, and Bethel and three of those four probate judges are seeking the Republican candidacy for the November election that will be decided at the August primary.

Thus, we are writing to encourage you to vote at Newtown’s Republican Primary on August 10 and to vote for Newtown’s current Probate Judge Moira Rodgers. There are several reasons why we believe Moira is the best candidate for this position. From a personal standpoint, Moira brings compassion and true life experience to an office that so often deals with the most intimate family situations.

The new probate court location will be in Bethel and Moira has promised to hold court hearings in Newtown and each of the other three towns allowing the residents more convenient service. In addition to winning a hotly contested probate election in Newtown last Fall, Moira recently organized Newtown’s probate office following the move to the new municipal campus, providing her with more experience than the other two candidates to handle the consolidation of all four districts.

Moira is also the only Republican candidate committed to serving as probate judge ful-time and will not practice law on the side, which will also make her an even more formidable opponent in the November election for probate judge.

The office of probate judge is a very serious and vital position and Moira Rodgers has the best qualifications, commitment, compassion, and will serve the residents of Newtown, Bethel, Redding, and Ridgefield well. If given the opportunity to be the Republican candidate in November, she will campaign hard and long and make Newtowners proud! Please vote and please vote for Moira!

If you plan on being away on August 10, you can request an absentee ballot by mail from the town clerk’s office or visit them weekdays to complete a ballot right then and there. The town clerk’s office number is 203-270-4210. If you have any questions for Moira, please call her at 203-426-1941.
