Redstone Ridge Concert Coming

Redstone Ridge Band, who became first place winners at the 2006 Roxbury Pickin’ & Fiddlin’ Contest — less than a year after the group’s formation — will bring its contemporary bluegrass, folk, and Americana music to Newtown Congregational Church for a public performance on Friday, March 23, at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10 and can be reserved in advance or purchased at the door. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free.

Members are Dave Aston (bass fiddle), Irfv Hagewood (banjo and vocals), Cathy Jones (fiddle and vocals), Aaron Shaw (lead vocals and mandolin), and Newtown resident Andy Spencer (lead vocals and acoustic guitar).

In July, Redstone Ridge took top honors at the 32nd Annual Roxbury Pickin’ ‘n Fiddlin’ Contest, where the band also picked up dobro player Scott Cammara.
