Occupation: I’m a realtor with Coldwell Banker and president of the Newtown Board of Realtors. I’ve been a realtor for 17 years. I was a flight attendant for United Airlines from 1973 to 1986, before I became a realtor.

Family: I have a daughter, Jennifer Fairchild Badillo, who is 22 years old. She just graduated from Penn State and will be going to law school in Boston this August.

Pets: I have always had golden retrievers, but my last one died two years ago. Since I’m not around much now, I’ve been putting off getting another dog.

How long have you lived in Newtown? I’ve lived here for 22 years.

What do you like to do in your free time? I belong to a book club, and I like to garden and golf. I do a lot of container gardening. I love home decorating and staging homes, too. I keep very busy with my job. I also volunteer with Danbury Hospital Development Fund, at The Day to Make a Difference and the Danbury Hospital Cancer Golf Tournament.

Do you have a favorite book? There are so many great books. We’ve been reading a lot of Jodi Picoult books that I’ve enjoyed in my book club. I loved The Kite Runner and Atonement, and we just read Once Upon A Day — that was a great book.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? My daughter and I went last Christmas to Rome and Florence, and we just loved it. I don’t think I have one favorite place, though, because everywhere is so special in its own way.

What is the best thing about Newtown? One of my favorite things is that it’s so rich in history. The people are so nice, too, and it has a small town feel, even though it’s 60 square miles. I love the tree lighting and I love the Labor Day Parade.

Who do you most admire? My mother. She is so loving and kind and honest. She taught me a lot of great values and about what is important in life. We’re very close.

Do you have a personal philosophy? I always tell my daughter, “Make sure you get a great education. Be honest and kind and always put a smile on your face.” I think it is important to look at what you have and not at what you don’t have.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? I love Godiva dark chocolate. But I’m never guilty about anything I do. I just enjoy it.
