Listen – I’m 40 years old (soon to be 41) and I can’t stay up past 11 pm anymore. Especially not after coming home late from a game and then running back and forth to Wal-Mart three times because the One Hour Photo people failed to scan, like, 12 of my daughter’s prints, which (of course) she needs for a school project due yesterday.

So when the Dallas Cowboys went up 29-14 on the New York Giants on Monday night I was ready to call it a night. Quincy Carter was playing like Roger Staubach (which he won’t do the rest of the season, I guarantee it) and the New York defense was getting called for pass interference so often it was almost automatic on every play.

So, yeah, I called it a night … and the Giants promptly went on a rally that gave them a 32-29 lead until a last-second field goal ties the game and sends it into overtime. And imagine how mad I would have been had I stuck toothpicks in my eyes and stayed up to see that wonderful rally, only to see the Giants blow it in O.T.

I hate Monday Night football.

Oh, well, here are the Week 3 picks –

Broncos (-3) over Raiders

Last week: 7-8-1; Overall: 17-13-2
