Alec Roche scored four goals to lead the Nighthawks to a 6-2 win over the Roadrunners in Newtown Soccer Club Boys’ F Division action. Here are all the results:

 

GIRLS C/D

Rapids 3, Shooting Stars 0 – Robin Abbot, Kate Costner and Collen Murphy each scored to lead the Rapids to the win. For the Stars, Jenna Durrelli and Eric Wolowzski played strong defense as Kaley Kruger played well on offense.

Shooting Stars 2, The Stride 0 – Gina Pisacreta and Meg Barbour scored the goals that lifted the Stars to the win. Katy Bloxsom played well in goal. For The Stride, Margot Isaacs, Laura Clark and Rebecca Reed played well.

Stallions 2, Hurricanes 0 – Nicki Haylon and Meaghan Brophy scored goals off great assists by June Repasi and Kayla Buckley to lead the Stallions to the win. The Hurricanes had solid performances by Andie Maret on offense and Nicole Grillo at midfield. Samantha Whitley and Chelsea Young were strong on defense for the ‘Canes.

Thunderfeet 1, Rapids 1 – Casey Ferguson of the ‘Feet and Caitlyn Coster of the Rapids scored the lone goals of the game. For the ‘Feet, Emily Snyder had an assist while Marissa Bobkowski and Rachel Taback played well. For the Rapids, Meagan Wilson and Katlin Marsden both played well.

BOYS C/D

Deranged Weasels 7, Pink Muffins 4 – Dana Ress and Evan Ritzinger scored two goals apiece to lead the Weasels to the win, Ben Spiegel, Peter Griffiths and Spencer Scott also scored. For the Muffins, Eric Rardin, Jonathan Zigman and Dave Manville all scored, Dan Burnett and Andrew Rathenberg (assist) also played well.

BOYS E

Vipers 1, Supersonics 1 – Alec Hooper of the Vipers and Pieter Martino of the ‘Sonics scored the only goals. For the Vipers, Chris McGowan and Ben Stoller were solid on defense while Chris Arnone was strong in the midfield. For the ‘Sonics, Michael Carrafiello and Sean Fahey both had strong games as in goal as Luke Piazza was active on defense.

Nucleus 2, Silverhawks 1 – John Imbimbo scored two goals and David Tortora, Andrew Bonvini and Matthew Ryan anchored the defense and led the Nucleus to the win. For the ‘Hawks, Brandon Body scored the lone goal off an assist from Chris Miller. Kevin Dennis and Abhinav Tyagarajan played well.

The Blaze 3, Tigersharks 1 – Andy Kelley scored the game winner and Joey VanVeen had two goals to lead the Blaze. Nicholas Badiola was great in goal while Danny White was great on defense. For the ‘Sharks, Zach LeMien scored off an assist from Thomas Healy. Weston Tardie was great in midfield and Philip Lyon played well on defense.

Kings 4, Terminators 0 – Goals by Thomas Capozziello, Connor Quinn, and Thomas Murphy along with good overall play by Keenan Bennett led the Kings to the win. Having strong games for the Terminators were Liam Ferguson on offense, John Fellin and Brian White on defense, and Sean Dardine at midfield.

GIRLS E

Hawks 2, Funky Monkeys 0 – Isabel Gleason,and Kelsey Karp scored one goal each to lead the Hawjs to the win. Emma Iannini and Zoe Eggelston played well. For the Monkeys, Emily Dion, Jamie Keating and Jenny Gumbrecht played well.

Funky Monkeys 2, Lightning Feet 0 – Samie Wray and Jamie Keating scored the goals that lifted the Monkeys to the win. Emily Molloy had the shut out in goal with help form Katherine Scott. For the ‘Feet, strong defense by Kaitlyn Connolly, Lauren Engmark, Randi Jackson and Erin Bell in goal led the way.

Hawks 4 Fireshooters 0 – Kelsey Karp, Celeste Cheung, Jennifer Van Veen, and Alexandra Klein each scored a goal for the Hawks. For the ‘Shooters, Megan O’Connell, Rebecca Silveira, Katie McMorran, and Mallory Reilly played well.

Dynamite 4, Cheetahs 1 – Matilda Dean, Emily Floros, Alexandra Grant and Caroline Lawrence all scored to lead the Dynamite to the win. Jenna Bonnacorso scored the goal for the Cheetahs while Meredith Bridges and Courtney Beckett played well.

BOYS F

Nighthawks 6, Roadrunners 2 – Alex Roche scored four goals and Will Carr had two to lead the Nighthawks to the win. Timmy Kelly played well. For the ‘Runners, Stefan Dullinger and Patrick Pierce scored while Brenden Peterson and Christian Mather had solid performances.

White Lightning 4, Raging Rams 0 – Jacob Moore scored twice and Stephen Conway and Miles Dobbrow each tallied solo goals to lead the White Lightning. James Marusi and Colin Dutt lead the Rams with multiple scoring chances, but were turned away by Connor Roche who was outstanding in goal. Michael Lally and Daniel Olszewski also had strong games for the Rams.

Bombers 1, Lightning Bolts 1 – Tyler Ruefenaucht of the Bombers and Joe Davis of the Bolts scored the only goals. For the Bombers, Jonathan Witten, Jonathan Vaughan and Harry Solaski played well. For the Bolts, Wesley Morlock, Devin Dinicola, and Conrad Morris had strong performances.

MetroStars 5, Wolverines 2 – Noah Sock and Michael Schartenberg scored two goals apiece to lead the Metrostars to the win. Charlie Helgren added one goal and Lane Kummer had a strong defensive game. Tyler Roberts scored two goals for the Wolverines while Kyle Gorden was strong offensively andSander Nydell and Micheal Alicia gave good defensive efforts.

Thunderbolts 3, Rockets 0 – Patrick Thornberg scored two goals and Ryan Pisani added one to lead the Thunderbolts to the win. Fredrik Dean and Scott Smith played well. For the Rockets, Trevor Connolly and Spencer Brindley played well on offense as Cameron Weibel and Chase Hutchison anchored the D.

Tornadoes 1, Raptors 0 – Ricky Kerins scored the only goal in a tightly contested game, backed up with strong midfield play by Colin Moller and Yossi Kohrman-Glaser. Outstanding performers for the Raptors were Brenton Scott and Ryan Coe at  midfield and David Swigart on defense.

GIRLS F

Cheetahs 5, Thunder 2 – Kristen DeGirolamo scored three goals and Shannon O’Gorman added two to lead the Cheetahs to the win. Both Erica Schulz and Samantha Steimle played well. For the Thunder, Kristiana Engler and Jenny Idelicato scored as Emily Brisson and Michelle Zarifis played well on defense.

Huskies 5, Hawks 1 – Jane Sclafani and Danielle Shine were strong on offense and Meaghan Harkins and Sarah Craig played aggressive defense to lead the Huskies to the win. For the Hawks, Robin Tolla and Betsy Kraushaar had their eye on the ball as Anne Martin defended the pocket brilliantly.

Hawks 3, Nighthawks 2 – Tess Murray, Stephanie Roman, and Hope McMorran all scored goals to lead the Hawks in a come-from-behind win. Lindsay Fiori played well on defense. For the Nighthawks, Julia Trudell scored two goals as Sydney Hutchison stepped up as goalie and Nicole Mendonca played a solid offense.

Shooting Stars 4, Firebolts 0 – Sophie Johnston scored two goals while Michelle Spanedda and Claire Bernson added one goal apiece to lead the Stars to the win. Brittany Heck played well. For the ‘Bolts, Abby Hungasky had many saves as goalie, Anna Northrup played a great game on offense and Lillianne Lyon did a nice job on defense.

Shockers 3, Tornadoes 0 – Bridget Power scored two goals and Cindy Svitek added one to lead the Shockers to the win. Catherine Neave played well on offense and Taylor Brady was super on defense. For the Tornadoes, Lilly Holmes and Rebecca Grant were solid in the net as Emily Grimes and Rachel Wiberg played well.

BOYS U10

Crusaders 6, Brookfield 0 – Colin Cooper scored two goals while Conrad Normann, Ryan Dunnigan, Andre  Capozziello and Dan Gallagher scored one apiece to lead the Crusaders.

Crusaders 4, Sherman 0 – Ryan Dunnigan, Colin Cooper, Conrad Normann and Adam Ellison scored the goals that lifted the Crusaders to the win.

Crusaders 3, Southbury 1 – Ryan Dunnigan scored two goals and Andre Capozziello added one to lead the Crusaders past Southbury.

Crusaders 7, Berkshire United 0 – Hank Helgren scored a pair of goals while Andre Capozziello, Jason Marks, Travis LeBlanc, Ryan Dunnigan and Colin Cooper all scored solo goals to lead the Crusaders. Sean Burson, Justin  Brophy and Josh Barrett played well.

BOYS U11

Danbury 2, Strikers 1 – Eric Thornberg scored the lone Newtown goal in a loss to Danbury. Josh Engler, Max Brazo, Michael Gould and Patrick Fay all played well.

Newington 2, Strikers 1 (State Cup) – Kyle Moore scored the only Newtown goal in a State Cup shootout loss to Newington. Eric Thornberg, Dan Lynch and Wildman played well. Ishan Tatake had a strong game in goal.

Southbury 5, Strikers 2 – Aaron Nezvesky and Kyle Moore scored the Newtown goals in a loss to Southbury. Daniel Hufzinger, Lynch, Pasko, Wright and Aschick all played well.

GIRLS U11

Roadrunners 3, New Milford 1 – Kaitlin Brophy scored two goals and Katie O’Dell added a third to lead the Roadrunners past a tough New Milford team. Emma Kingsley and Sarah Attanasio played well on offense as Ali Pliszka was outstanding on defense. Alex Israel and Kristin Stoller had solid games.

GIRLS U12

Darien 1, Rampage 0 (State Cup) – Newtown lost a heartbreaker in the first round of the State Cup. Jennifer Daily, Kristen Tanner and Susan Mason supplied the offensive pressure at forward while Ally Modzelewski and Berenice Bryant played well defensively.

Watertown 4, Rampage 1 – Monica Warek scored off an assist from Taylor Smith on a corner play, but it was the only goal the Rampage could muster against Watertown. Kirsten Hudock, Jordyn Good and Laetitia de Brantes played well at midfield while goalie Katie Pessin recorded nine saves.

BOYS U12

Raptors 5, New Fairfield 2 – Adam Buccino scored three times and Daniel Greenwood scored twice to lead Newtown to the win. Ben Mahoney, Matt Slatery, Casey Tenney and Benjamin Miles put in strong defensive performances.

GIRLS U14

Navigators 2, Glastonbury 0 (State Cup) 0 – Harriet Morgan scored two goals to lead the ‘Gators to the win. Katie Power recorded the shutout in goal with the support of defenders Kendra O’Connor, Christie Attanasio, Jackie Petrasanta and Claire Ober.

Navigators 2, Litchfield 0 – Ashley Braun scored off a cross by Harriet Morgan and Emily Lockhart scored an unassisted goal to lead the ‘Gators. Lauren Hebert, Eva Cerreta and Jacqui Kirol had strong games in midfield.

Hurricanes 1, New Canaan 0 (State Cup) – Cassie David scored the only goal of the contest off a nice pass from Haley Keane to lead the ‘Canes to the State Cup win. Jen Brewer, Adelle Cerreta, Molly Curry, Emily Weber and goalie Emily Kluga anchored the defense.

Hurricanes 2, New Milford 1 – It took an early 2nd half goal by New Milford to wake up the Hurricanes. Sarah Shannon evened the score off a nice feed from Katie Serock and then Cara Colacurcio scored the game winner off an assist from Colleen Thornberg, who along with Genna Scheuerell controlled the midfield.
