Children’s Programs:

A drop-in preschool story time featuring stories, songs, and a special puppet show will take place on Thursday, January 6 at 10:30 a.m.  No registration is required.

On Thursday, January 13, a drop-in story time for pre-school children with a musical theme will be led by Jenn Calabrese and Elizabeth Healey at 10:30 am. This program is free, and no registration is required. 

Story hour registration for the winter session will begin January 18 and continue through the 28th. Fill out a registration form in the children’s department for the 2-year-old program or the 3 -5 year old story time. No phone registrations will be accepted.  You must register to be eligible for the winter session. The seven-week session begins February 1 and ends the week of March 21.  For more information call the children’s department at 426-3851.

Adult Programs

Ricky Ayers is once again offering a yoga class from 4:45 - 6:15 pm beginning on Thursday, January 6 in the new meeting room.  Learn correct form, relaxation, breathing, and gentle stretching techniques.  To register please call Mr Ayers directly at 262-8721.

Amanda Cruz will be displaying her photography at the library for two days only on January 8 and 9. Don’t miss the opportunity to view this talented young photographer’s work.

Come to a polymer clay workshop with Tracy VanBuskirk on Monday, January 10 at 10:00 am.  Along with the basics, Tracy will teach some very effective and pretty techniques, including caning, marbling, and millefiori.  Let those holiday returns wait one more day and join us at the library for what promises to be a fun morning.  Everyone will have the opportunity to make a switch plate or pen cover.  $10 supply fee.  Limited to 10 participants. Sign up at the circulation desk.

Harlan Jessup continues to provide help to those interested in researching their roots on Monday afternoons from 2 - 5 pm in the Genealogy Room. Please call the library first, as Mr Jessup is not always available.

Bob Brand is once again offering a free Internet class for beginners on Saturday, January 15, from 10 am - noon in the new meeting room.  Please register at the circulation desk for this class. An intermediate class will also be held on Saturday, January 22 from 10 am - noon.  A $10 fee is charged for this class, and registration is also required.

Booth Library Celebrates Great Movies That Were Great Books First!  On Friday, January 14 at 12:30 pm a flavorful adaptation of Harper Lee’s novel about a Southern lawyer who defends a black man accused of rape will be shown.  Free with hot buttered popcorn.

The library will close at 1 pm on December 30 and be closed December 31, January 1 and January 2. On behalf of the C.H. Booth Library staff we would like to wish you all a healthy and happy 2000.
