Nanavaty Named

GOP Treasurer

Russ Melita and Bill Brimmer, the Republicans' endorsed candidates for first

selectman and selectman, recently announced that they have appointed local

certified public accountant Charles Nanavaty as treasurer of their campaign

committee.

"We are indeed fortunate to have Chuck Nanavaty," said Mr Melita.

Mr Nanavaty is a CPA and tax partner with the firm of Nanavaty & Nanavaty of

Church Hill Road. He has vast experience in the tax and audit field, including

the review of audits in preparation of rebuttal audits on federal and state

income taxes and state sales.

In addition to his current position, Mr Nanavaty was also associated with

Price Waterhouse Securities in Stamford, and Nanavaty Business Services of

Newtown. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Ancell

School of Business at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury.

He is a member of several accounts groups, is chairman of the Cullens Youth

Association and member of the Newtown Rotary Club. He is a past alternate on

the Planning & Zoning Commission and former member of the Legislative Council.

He has been a member of the Board of Education since 1994.

Mr Nanavaty and his wife, Joanne, live in Sandy Hook.
