An Evening With Deen Kemsley:

June 1 At The Church Of Jesus Christ

The public is invited to join members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 16 Saw Mill Road in Newtown for “An Evening with Deen Kemsley” on Sunday, June 1, at 7 pm. Mr Kemsley will discuss key principles from his new, highly acclaimed nondenominational Christian book.

Trust in the Lord: Reflections of Jesus Christ is a powerful collection of personal essays about the Savior. Each essay brings anecdotes and intriguing insights that strengthen and encourage all who read them. It conveys a sense of peace and calm that gently envelops its readers.

In his book, Mr Kemsley sets out to know Christ and experience his love in this sincere and personal book.

The book is unique in that prominent leaders from very different Christian denominations have all endorsed the book. Glenn Beck of CNN indicates the book leads readers to the point where “they can almost see his face, and helps them feel the Savior’s infinite love for them.”

Richard L. Bushman describes it as “gripping”; Richard Mouw, the president of Fuller Theological Seminary, said the book is “impressive and moving”; Publisher’s Weekly said the book “has a deeply ecumenical tone … it’s refreshing and quietly lovely’; and Rebecca Wire of Roundtable Reviews stated, “This was a beautiful read.”

Mr Kemsley is the Exxon Professor of Accounting at Tulane University, and he teaches executive MBA classes at Columbia University. He also conducts training programs for stock and bond analysts on Wall Street, and he has published extensively in premier business journals. In addition, he has earned top teaching awards at Columbia, Yale, and Tulane.

Most of all, he says, he loves the Lord, so for many years he has looked forward to applying his teaching talents to the witness of Jesus Christ.

Even though Mr Kemsley teaches down in New Orleans, he and his wife Kristin live in Newtown. They are the parents of nine children.
