OBITS (Alagna; Glickman; Willis; Sabados; Dolan)
Mariangela Alagna
Mariangela Alagna, 82, wife of Anthony Alagna of Huntingtown Road, Newtown,
died April 1 in Bethel Health Care Facility.
She was born in Ciro, Calabria, Italy, on January 6, 1916. She came to the
United States in 1958 and moved to Newtown in 1978.
For many years, she was employed as a dressmaker both in Italy and the United
States.
Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Frank Alagna of Trumbull and
Peter Alagna of Newtown; two daughters, Nella Pavia and Rose Pavia, both of
Newtown; three brothers in Italy; three sisters, two in Italy and one in
Argentina; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Friday, April 3 from 4 to 8 pm at Honan Funeral Home, 58
Main Street, Newtown.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4 at 9:30 am from the Honan
Funeral Home, followed at 10 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St Rose
Church. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Dr Maurice Glickman
Dr Maurice Glickman, 80, formerly of Newtown, died March 22 in Bradenton, Fla.
Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Dr Glickman came to Manatee County in Florida
from Newtown in 1990. He was a physician and a psychiatrist.
He was a member of the American Medical Association and American Psychiatric
Association. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; three sons, Lester, of Downingtown, Pa.,
Chester, and Ernest, both of Marlboro, Mass.; two sisters, Annie Bleeman of
Redwood City, Calif.; and Sylvia Karrel of Sydney, Nova Scotia; a brother,
Saul of Toronto, Canada; and three grandchildren.
Services were held March 24 at Tishman Funeral Home, Sarasota, with Rabbi Dr
Harold Lerner officiating. Burial was in Palms Memorial Park, Sarasota.

Lorin W. Willis Jr
Lorin William Willis Jr, 70, formerly of Newtown, died March 31, in Porter
Medical Center in Middlebury.
He was the husband of Nancy Cutting Willis of Lincoln.
He was born on November 4, 1927 in Trumbull, the son of Lorin W. and Leila
(Gregory) Willis Sr.
Mr Willis graduated from the Gunnery School, Washington, and attended Babson
College. He served in World War II in the US Navy and was on the USS
Cassinghead , an oil tanker off the coast of Japan when the war ended.
He was treasurer of the Chapin & Bangs Steel Company in Bridgeport for 37
years and he was a member of the Bristol Rotary Club.
Mr Willis is survived by his wife Nancy; three children, Diane Ellis of
Londonderry, N.H., Gail Martin of Bristol and Peter C. Willis of Silver Lake,
N.H.; eight grandchildren; a brother Gregory C. Willis of Fairfield; a niece
and four nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 4, at 1 pm, in his home on
Atkins Road in Lincoln. Interment will be at a later date.

Stephanie Sabados
Stephanie Louise Sabados, 34, granddaughter of Beatrice Thompson of Sandy
Hook, died March 6 at Danbury Hospital.
Miss Sabados lived at 14 Crosby Street, Danbury, and was an active member in
DATAHR programs. She was a former Southbury resident.
She was born in Bridgeport, June 17, 1963.
Miss Sabados was a graduate of Pomperaug Regional High School in Southbury.
Besides her grandmother, she is survived by a sister, Stacie Latham of
Orlando, Fla.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Contributions in her memory may be made to "Supported Independent Living
Program," 24 Smith St, Danbury 06810.
A memorial service was held at Tarrywile Mansion in Danbury.
Cremation Services of Western Connecticut, 55 Main Street, Danbury, was in
charge of arrangements.

Virginia M. Dolan
Virginia M. Dolan, 72, a retired postmaster at the Hawleyville Post Office,
died March 31 at her home.
Mrs Dolan, of Hawleyville Road, was the wife of George W. Dolan.
She was born in Elmhurst, N.Y., September 5, 1925, a daughter of Frank and
Mary Gassert. She was a graduate of Bishop McDonnell High School in Brooklyn,
N.Y.
A resident of Hawleyville since 1955, Mrs Dolan went to work at the
Hawleyville Post Office in 1964. She was appointed postmaster in 1979 and
retired in 1992. She was previously employed for ten years by Dunn &
Bradstreet in New York City.
She was a member of St Rose Church, the Hawleyville Fire Company Auxiliary,
and the National Association of Postmasters.
Besides her husband, Mrs Dolan is survived by a daughter, Mary Griffin of
Southbury; a brother, Francis Gassert of Jamesport, L.I., N.Y.; and several
nieces and nephews.

Connecticut, 30 West St, Danbury 06810.
Calling hours will be April 2 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at the Honan Funeral
Home, 58 Main St, Newtown.
Services will be held Friday, April 3 at 9:30 am at the Honan Funeral Home,
followed at 10 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St Rose Church. Burial
will take place in St Rose Cemetery.
