Joseph E. Lacko
Joseph E. Lacko, 74, beloved husband of Evelyn (Olha) Lacko, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, died on December 12 at Bridgeport Hospital.
He is survived by a son, Allen Lacko of Newtown.
Born in Stratford, he was the son of the late John and Mary Lacko, and was a resident of Bridgeport for more than 55 years. Mr Lacko was a veteran of the Armed Forces and was stationed in the Philippines and South Pacific during World War II. He was a past commander of the National Association of Naval Veterans, Port Five, in Black Rock. Mr Lacko owned and operated his own TV repair business and also worked as a power supervisor for the Metro North Rail Systems until his retirement in 1988, after more than 37 years of service.
In addition to his wife, Evelyn, and his son, he is survived by two other children, Janet Fagan of Sedona, Ariz., and Barbara Fuzfa of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Kathleen Krasenics of Hollywood, Calif., Denise Lacko of Norwalk, Danielle Lacko of New York City, April Lacko of Bridgeport, Daniel Fagan of Tucson, Ariz., and Stephen Fuzfa, Jr, of Schaumberg, Ill.; three sisters, Margaret Masek and Lillian Farley of Stratford, and Mary Ann Suznevik of Bridgeport; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on December 18, in St Ann Church, Bridgeport, followed by interment with full military honors in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
The Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center, was in charge of arrangements.
