Robert A. Gore, Jr, 70, of Stockbridge, Vt., formerly of Danbury, died March 2 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, Vt. Mr Gore was born July 3, 1936, in Danbury, the son of Robert A., Sr and Helen (Hyatt) Gore.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Tracy and Douglas Luessenhop of Newtown, Kim Gore of Danbury, Timothy and Dana Gore of New Fairfield, and Jamie Gore of Danbury; three sisters, Beverly Toth of Michigan, Patricia Bickelhaupt of Bethel, Linda Mazza of Bethel; and a brother, Ronald Gore of New Milford. He is survived by five grandchildren, Kayla and Kristopher Coons, Jennifer and Samantha Surges, and Sarah Gore; his former wife, Joan Gore; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by longtime companion Jane Sprindis; his brothers, Roland, Donald, Jack, and Richard Gore; and one sister, Helen Rotella.
He was a carpenter and a woodworker for Walpole Woodworkers in Ridgefield and for Advanced Animation in Stockbridge, Vt., and served in the US Army. He was an avid gardener and always enjoyed a good practical joke.
Calling hours were scheduled at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Thursday, March 8, from 5 to 8 pm, where a funeral service was to be held at 7 pm.
Cremation services will be private.
