Eugenia C. (Sibella) Matrullo, 77, of Newtown, formerly of Cranston, R.I., died March 8 at Danbury Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of 55 years of Mathew Matrullo. Born in Rota DâImagna, Italy, she was a daughter of Francesco and Anna (Sibella) Sibella.
Mrs Matrullo came to the United States with her parents and sister in 1941. She was a graduate of Cranston High School.
Mrs Matrullo resided at her present address for the past 39 years. She was a baker for the Newtown Public Schools for 22 years before retiring in 1996. She enjoyed gardening, crochet, needlework, crafts, and traveling. Mrs Matrullo was a communicant of St Rose of Lima Parish.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Paula Trapani and her husband, Joseph, of Westport, Steven Matrullo and his wife, Nanette, of Reading, Mass., and Julie Fiskio and her husband, Steven, of Duxbury, Mass. Mrs Matrullo was the grandmother of Andrew and Kelleigh Matrullo and Emma and Elliana Fiskio. She was the sister of Victoria Amalfetano of Warwick, R.I., and Frank Sibella of Ellington. She was predeceased by a brother, William Sibella.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held March 12 in St Maryâs Church, Cranston. Burial was in St Annâs Cemetery, Cranston.
