Joseph Ligouri, 75, beloved husband of Nancy (Bottone) Ligouri of Trumbull, died February 13, at St Vincentâs Medical Center, Bridgeport, following a sudden illness.
He was the brother of Thomas Ligouri of Newtown.
Born in Bridgeport on March 25, 1925, he was the son of the late James and Caterina (Ianiella) Ligouri. Mr Ligouri was the owner and operator of Ligouriâs Service Center on Main Street, Bridgeport, for more than 50 years before retiring in 1992. He was a lifetime area resident and member of the Park City Council of the Knights of Columbus.
Besides his wife and brother, he is survived by his devoted children, Joseph Ligouri and his wife, Carol, of Monroe, Diane Mastrone and her husband, Donald, of Shelton, Catherine Ligouri of Monroe, and Donna Ormsbee and her husband, Gene of Trumbull; brothers, George Ligouri of Trumbull, John Ligouri of Shelton, Raymond Ligouri of Monroe, and Armondo Ligouri of Florida; sisters, Madeline Soules of Monroe, and Virginia Lauro of Stratford; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers James, Louis, and Anthony Ligouri; and sisters, Jean Bockiaro and Rose Schettino.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 16, from the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike (Route 111), Monroe, at 8:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, at 10 am. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
