Gail Hamaty-Matthews Named To ABD Board of Trustees

BETHEL — Ability Beyond Disability (ABD) has announced three new members to its Board of Directors, one new member to its Board of Trustees and a new chair and vice chair for each.

Newtown Resident Gail Hamaty-Matthews has been named vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees after serving as chairman for the past two years. She operates her own law firm and has been a member of the board since 2003.

Harvey Kramer, MD has been named chairman of the Board of Directors. He is a resident of West Redding, and is currently the Medical Director of Southbury Cardiology. He has been a member of the board since 1998.

Peter D. Davis has been named vice-chairman of the Board of Directors. He is a resident of Oxford, and is currently an advisor for Ameriprise Financial. He has been a member of the board since 2002.

Joseph Loya, new to the Board of Directors, is a resident of Bethel and a Worldwide Partner with Mercer Consulting.

Arthur Rosenfield, new to the Board of Directors, is a resident of New Haven and a retired radiologist and researcher of Yale University.

Barbara Volz, new to the Board of Directors, is a resident of Ridgefield and the owner of Brewster Ford Auto Dealership.

George Mulvaney has been named chairman of the Board of Trustees. He is a resident of Ridgefield, and the founder and president of Mulvaney Mechanical, Inc. He has been a member of the board since 2000.

Charles Salup, new to the Board of Trustees, is a resident of Ridgefield and a Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley.

Ability Beyond Disability is a 501c3 organization headquartered in Bethel and Mount Kisco, NY. It provides a wide range of services for approximately 1,300 people with a disability that inhibits their activities of daily living, including numerous residential alternatives, employment training, career counseling, job placement services, cognitive and life skills instruction, clinical and therapeutic support, and volunteer and recreational activities.
