Yvonne M. Kilbride
Yvonne M. Kilbride, 98, formerly of Glen Road, Sandy Hook, died March 5, in Ashlar of Newtown, where she had been a resident for five years. Mrs Kilbride was the wife of the late Francis P. Kilbride.
Mrs Kilbride was born in Haverhill, Mass., on February 28, 1906, a daughter of the late Adelard J. and Rosalie (Ouimette) Thibault. She was a charge nurse at Fairfield Hills Hospital for 24 years until her retirement.
A resident of Newtown since the 1920s, she was a parishioner of St Rose of Lima Church and after her retirement was a longtime active volunteer there. Mrs Kilbride designed and made the baptismal gowns used at St Rose for many years.
Mrs Kilbride is survived by a daughter, Rosemarie Cavanaugh of Newtown; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Francis J. Kilbride; and a daughter, Catherine McGrath.
Funeral services were held March 8 from Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, and at St Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in St Rose Cemetery.
