Katherine M. Zvon
Katherine M. Zvon, 81, a resident of Sandy Hook for the past four years, died on February 12 at Danbury Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Zvon. Previously, Mrs Zvon had been a resident of Wilton for 40 years.
She was born in Stamford on October 28, 1919, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Vardian) Pozek. She was educated in the Stamford School System and then attended the Trapp Hagen School of Design in New York City, followed by employment as a dress designer. In later years, along with her late husband, she enjoyed and was well known in the antique business.
Survivors include her children, Karen Mayer of LaLuz, N. Mex., and Stephen M. Zvon of Newtown; one brother, John Pozek of Avon; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs Zvon was predeceased by her sister, Mildred Pozek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 16, at 10 am in Sacred Heart Church, Georgetown. The Rev M. Joseph Joaquin, pastor, will officiate. The interment will take place in Bald Hill Cemetery, Wilton, in the spring.
