I am a bit disappointed about how long it has taken to hear from candidates. The race for the state representative seat is an important race. The entire country is “flipping” seats because this country is undergoing difficult, to say the least, times. It’s almost as if there is a resistance to organizing a forum so the public hears from the democratic state representative candidates That is wholly undemocratic. It says a great deal about those resisting these sessions. If the choice was to let the public choose a democratic candidate, then have them address the public as early on, and as often, as possible. That is true transparency. I have learned the hard way that there is a great deal of behind the scenes manipulation and rumors nourishment. It’s a losing strategy. My favorite gift is a T-shirt that says that I am not a woman who will ever be remembered as not speaking up. It’s my motto.
I moved to Newtown for the quality of life and that is about the people. We have only lived here almost six years and many good neighbors have left. Many express the concerns about the increasing taxes, utilities and administration heavy organizations. I don’t want to lose any more neighbors to these concerns. I look forward to posing these types of issues to candidates because these are urgent matters to be addressed.
Thank you so much for your support, Dan!! I am so thrilled to hear that I have earned your trust, and I will work like heck to earn the trust of residents all across Newtown. Lots of work ahead but I'm looking forward to every minute of it!
