The Ashurst Academy of Irish Dance, with studios in Newtown and Danbury, was proud to send two solo qualifiers and a team to the World Irish Dance Championships last week.

Coinciding with Earth Day weekend, the Newtown Environmental Action Team is holding its next litter pickup on Saturday, April 20, from 9 to 11 am, at the Exit 9 commuter parking lot. The location is one of several litter “hot spots” it has identified following a town-wide survey.
We need to have a community discussion on housing in Newtown. perhaps this bill, even if vetoed, will cause us to look hard at our progress to date and future options. Our past results, strongly influenced by "not in my backyard" as dismal. The Bees terminology of "undesirable zoning" shows a concerning lack of understanding of how critical this issue is.
Hats off to the Newtown PD for another positive resolution. I truly applaud their patience and dedication—it’s impressive how they consistently deliver outcomes like this. This is the second time they’ve stepped up and prevented what could have been a much worse situation.
It does make me wonder, though—any word on when we might hear the final outcome of the last incident through the court system?
