The 29th season of Saturday Pasta Dinners at Newtown United Methodist Church will continue on November 3 in the church’s fellowship hall, 92 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook.

Newtown Congregational Church is planning the second session of its newest social group. Babies + Bagels is scheduled for Thursday, November 8, at 10 am.

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will present its 2018 Fall Art Show & Sale at Newtown Meeting House Friday through Sunday, November 2-4. A reception is planned for Friday evening, also at the meeting house.

On Sunday, October 28, at 3 pm, the pianist Dr Konstantza Chernov will perform a benefit concert for Newtown Meeting House, at the historic building on Main Street. Admission is $10, payable at the door.

The Monroe Republican Town Committee will host a “Meet and Greet the Republican Candidates” event on Saturday, October 27, from 1 to 3 pm, at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library in Monroe. A fundraiser is also planned, for Friday, November 2.

The Someday Cinema Series at Edmond Town Hall Theatre will offer a double feature on Sunday, October 28: screenings of "The Bride of Frankenstein" (1935) and "The Beast with Five Fingers" (1946).
