I’m glad we can finally put this chapter behind us and move forward.
Ultimately, I’m pleased that the Borough Zoning Board chose to follow the zoning regulations and the law rather than give in to the pressure surrounding this project. The settlement also appears to address one of the more legitimate concerns by moving the homes substantially farther from the Rochambeau Trail while preserving additional open space.
I’m glad the Borough ultimately chose to follow its zoning regulations rather than allow the loudest voices in the room to dictate what a private property owner can legally do with their land. That’s how zoning is supposed to work — by the regulations, not by whoever can generate the most outrage with the most amount of clickbait.
