It was another great weekend for the Newtown High School Marching Band & Guard. On November 5, the band and guard will travel to MetLife Stadium for its final competition of the season.
Head O’ Meadow Elementary School recently celebrated the conclusion of its One School, One Read program by having students enjoy the story one more time during a walk around the school’s back field.
This year marked the 26th Annual Joseph P. Grasso Festival for the Newtown High School’s Marching Band & Guard’s home show on October 15, and it did not disappoint.
Residents are reminded that Newtown Middle School’s front lawn at 11 Queen Street will once again host scarecrows and painted pumpkins created by students.

As a democrat that knows the value of loyalty and who has observed both Michelle Ku and Brandon Moore at Michelle’s recent event and at another gatherings, my family and I stand behind Michelle Ku. She has spent over 14 years actively fighting for Newtown residents and not simply a few months in order to run for a state seat. I think all the candidates are worthy of praise but I want someone who knows what new families and older residents need. I built our home in Newtown hoping our sons will return one day, after their work elsewhere winds down and during our current retirement, to raise families in Newtown. I want someone with a record of advocacy like Michelle’s but also with her sense of commitment and loyalty. I do agree that she deserves the DTC support but when a party is concerned about hurting candidates’ feelings, there is nothing you can do but put one foot in front of the other and she will do that with her usual strength, intelligence, integrity and transparency.
