The Newtown Choral Society is inviting prospective new members to an open rehearsal Wednesday, January 22, at 7 pm, at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street.

Under the direction of Mary Andreotta, the choir will be preparing for its April Concert, “Music of the Night,” which will feature pop, Broadway and classical pieces. Planned music includes music from Cole Porter, The Lion King and The Phantom of the Opera.

Now in its 28th year, the choral society welcomes members from all area towns and has openings in all voices. The choir is self supporting, through ticket and advertising sales and members’ dues.  No one, however, is turned down because of an inability to pay.
