The Children’s Adventure Center will continue with its series of Bookworms Story Hour this month with readings by First Selectman Pat Llodra on Saturday, January 11.

Mrs Llodra will be selecting from among her children’s favorites, as well as some of her own favorites, for the free program that will begin at 10 am.

“I love reading to children,” remarked the first selectman. “I just love that age group, 3-5-year old preschoolers. They are such fun, and so perceptive, and can make the most unexpected pronouncements.”

Mrs Llodra has a strong educational background, having been a teacher and administrator in various Connecticut communities before entering the world of politics.

The Bookworms Story Hour is presented and arranged in such a way that all parents and visitors are extremely comfortable and feel at home. Parents and guardians are welcome to do their own reading or listen to each month’s guest reader.

Light refreshments will be served.

Adults will also have an opportunity on Saturday to walk to the senior center, also part of the multi-purpose building at 14 Riverside Road, where Newtown Visiting Nurses will be hosting Dr William Notaro. The dermatologist will be happy to answer questions related to the skin and dermatology.

Call The Children’s Adventure Center, at 203-426-3018, for additional information.
