PLANTSVILLE — LOF Adaptive Skiers will be at Mount Southington, 396 Mt Vernon Road in Plantsville, on Wednesday, January 15, at 9 am, demonstrating a brand-new TetraSki, the world’s only independent alpine ski for complex disabilities.

The TetraSki is technology that finally represents adaptive skiers dreams of independent skiing.

Electric actuators on the TetraSki provide independent turning and speed variability through the use of a joystick or breath control, allowing the skier with limited strength and dexterity to operate the TetraSki safely and with a high degree of performance and independence.

LOF Adaptive Skiers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 1992 in Sandy Hook, LOF Adaptive Skiers has helped individuals with disabilities “soar beyond the boundaries” through adaptive sports. Its mission is to build lasting confidence and fulfillment through exposure and professional training in recreational and competitive water and snow skiing to children, adults, and veterans with disabilities.
