Betty (Kuhne) Marklin, 77, of Sebring, Fla., and previously of Sandy Hook, died December 24 in Lake Placid, Fla., after a long illness. She was born in Waterbury, March 20, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Fannie (Pettit) and Carl Kuhne, Sr.

Ms Marklin grew up in Sandy Hook, and was educated in Newtown schools. A longtime resident of Sebring, she was a nurse at Highlands General Hospital for many years.

Two brothers, Carl Kuhne, Jr, of Sandy Hook and Ernest Kuhne of Wolcott; two sisters, Mabel Britton of Terryville and Esther Paproski of Newtown; and several nieces and nephews survive Ms Marklin. Her husband, Norris Marklin, and a sister, Hazel Lynch, predeceased her.

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
