To the Editor:

I’m taking a moment to give thanks for a couple of things:

First, for the many years of dedicated service by Mark Favale to the Hawleyville Post Office and the customers of this legendary post office. May his kindnesses be returned to him ten-fold in his retirement.

Secondly, to the volunteers who devoted time to assist in the distribution of COVID tests and masks to the community, particularly those who volunteered this past week, when single digit temperatures nipped the nose and bit the toes.

Thank you. These efforts are appreciated and prove, once again, the generosity of spirit of this town.
