Richard Regan, Jr

January 19, 1957 to December 3, 2021

Richard (Rich) L. Regan, Jr, 64 years old, died way too soon from a massive heart attack while visiting in Florida.

He lived in Farmington, Conn., from 1996 to 2021. He grew up and lived in Newtown until 1976, moved to Clearwater, Fla., for two years, and then back to Newtown until 1996. He graduated Newtown High in 1975

He retired after working for the State of Connecticut in the building maintenance department from 1979 to 2017. He spent 1979 to 1996 employed at the Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown, transferring to Hartford after its closing.

Rich was never married and had no children. He is survived by his mother, Alyce Regan Dorey (91 years old), of Clearwater Fla.; brothers, James Regan (58) of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Todd Regan (57) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nephews, Chris Regan (40) of Tennessee, Pete Delaportas (29) of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Travis Regan (21) of Palm Harbor, Fla., Adam Regan (18) of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Phillip Regan (13) of Palm Harbor, Fla.

Rich was predeceased by his father, Richard L. Regan, Sr, in 1989, and sister, Durinda Delaportas, in 2010.

Rich enjoyed traveling and sports of all kinds, especially his beloved KC Chiefs, SF Giants, and New York Rangers. He was big on fishing and a member of the Newtown Rod & Reel Club for many decades. He also loved darts. He was an avid fan of motorcycle drag racing and traveled the Eastern half of the country attending and helping out at events for more than 25 years.
