Jean (Hughes) Hayden

Jean (Hughes) Hayden, 80, of Trumbull, died February 1 in her home.

She is survived by a son, Jonathan Hayden, and his wife, Linda, of Newtown.

Mrs Hayden was born in Okmulgee, Okla., and was a Trumbull resident most of her life. She was a retired teacher with the Bridgeport school system and a former curriculum coordinator for the Head Start Program. She was a member of the Trumbull Congregational Church and a former choir member. She was predeceased by her husband, Chester F. Hayden, who died on January 31.

Survivors also include two daughters, Deborah Oppel, with whom she resided in Trumbull, and Nancy and her husband, Paul Scott, of Southbury; six grandchildren, Timothy Guay, Paul Oppel, Jessica Oppel, Jeremy Hayden, David Hayden, and Adam Hayden; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services took place on February 5 in the Trumbull Congregational Church, with the Rev Arlene Studer officiating. Interment was in Long Hill Cemetery.

The Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, was in charge of arrangements.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Trumbull Congregational Church Organ Fund.
