Tierney Carey (St. Michael’s College swimming & diving) – Sophomore Tierney Carey was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Women’s Diver of the Week on Tuesday, January 23, one day after receiving the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Diver of the Week award. Carey won both one-meter dives in a dual-meet victory versus the College of Saint Rose on Saturday, January 20, at the Ross Sports Center Pool. She combined for 358.80 points in the two events, helping the Purple Knight women earn a 151-133 victory versus the Golden Knights.

Catherine Maher (Trinity College women’s basketball) – The Lady Bantams snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 10-8 with a 81-62 win over Colby College last Saturday. Cat Maher had seven points on 3-of-6 shooting with two rebounds and five assists in 32 minutes of action. Through 18 games, Maher is averaging 8.2 points per game with a team-high 21 three-point buckets, 51 assists and 16 steals.

Kacy Foehrenbach (Keene State women’s basketball) – The freshman has appeared in five games and has a couple of baskets to her credit (0.7 points per game) as the Division III Lady Owls have improved to 11-5 overall.

Tim Lux (Middlebury College swimming & diving) – Lux helped lead the Middlebury College 200 medley relay team to a record-setting performance in a 170-126 loss Williams College on January 27. The foursome set a mark of 1:35.97 in the event, breaking the three-year-old pool record of 1:36.07. Lux then finished first in the 100 breaststroke, third in the 200 breaststroke and was the anchor on the 200 freestyle relay team which took fourth.

Abby Atkinson (Bucknell University swimming & diving) – After missing a few meets due to illness, Abby Atkinson returned to the water last weekend and helped lead the Lady Bisons to a 209-91 win over Lehigh. Atkinson led off the 200 medley ‘D’ relay, which finished fifth, then finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.47) and then led off the 400 freestyle ‘C’ relay, which finished third. She is now preparing for the Patriot League championships February 15-17.

CJ Maurer (St. Bonaventure University swimming & diving) – The St. Bonaventure men’s swimming and diving team earned a split on Sunday afternoon as it fell to No. 20 West Virginia and defeated Georgetown in a tri-meet at the WVU Natatorium on January 15. The Bonnies fell to the host Mountaineers 138-95 and topped the Hoyas 161-73. CJ Maurer captured first on the one- and three-meter boards and, at the same time, was named St. Bonaventure student athlete of the week for the period ending January 14 … Maurer was second in both the one- and three-meter events in a loss to Binghamton University on January 20 … In a win over Niagara, Maurer finished first in the three-meter event and second in the one-meter event.

Amy Robinson (University of Vermont swimming & diving) – The University of Vermont swimming and diving team set four new pool records on its way to a 176-108 victory over Providence College on Saturday afternoon at Forbush Natatorium. The Catamounts wrap up the regular season with an 11-5 overall mark as they now prepare for the America East Championships that start on February 8.

Kyle Tyll (Sacred Heart University ice hockey) – The sophomore, a graduate of Trinity-Pawling, has five goals and three assists for the 15-7-4 Pioneers. He scored a goal as the Pioneers topped Canisius, 5-2, on January 26.

Amber Butler (Bucknell University cheerleading) – Butler is co-captain of a squad that has been cheering on the men’s basketball team (6-7) and women’s basketball team (8-5).
