Edmond Town Hall Theatre has extended its run of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.

Originally scheduled to play until February 13, the Board of Managers this week announced that the film will be extended through the weekend of February 15-16. Screenings are planned for Saturday and Sunday evenings at 7 and 9:10, and Saturday afternoon at 1 and 4.

In this sequel to the 2004 film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, ex-San Diego lead news anchor Ron Burgundy gets a chance at the big time when the New York Global News Network offers him and his misfit team a chance to be part of their 24-hour news programming in this off-the-wall wacky comedy.

The film stars Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Dave Koechner and Christina Applegate. It is rated PG-13, and has a running tie of two hours.

In addition, the ETH Board of Directors on Friday, February 14, announced a limited run of Saving Mr Banks for Monday, February 17 through Thursday, February 20.

The film is set in 1961, when Mary Poppins author P.L. Travers reluctantly traveled to Los Angeles to meet with the legendary Walt Disney and discuss a possible film version of her books. What followed was a difficult and acrimonious two weeks.

Financially in trouble but determined to maintain the integrity of her books, Travers puts up roadblock after roadblock to Disney’s plans for the film, which was released in December.

Saving Mr Banks stars Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson and Annie Rose Buckley. It has a running time of 2:05, and is rated PG-13.

Screenings are Monday at 7 and 9:10 pm, and Tuesday through Thursday at 7 pm, with matinees scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at 1 and 4 pm.

Tickets for all Edmond Town Hall Theatre movies are $2. The box office at 45 Main Street opens 30 minutes before each screening.
