Gymnastics Team Competes In SWC Championships

Newtown High School's gymnastics teams competed in the South-West Conference championships on February 13. The Nighthawks were third overall and first as a team on the balance beam.

Hannah Jojo was third in the all around scoring with a 35.850 and Marisa Choi was fourth with a 35.350.

On the beam, Jojo had a score of 9.100, Kaitlin Yeaton scored a 9.050, Choi had an 8.950, and Casey Sullivan scored an 8.850.

The Nighthawks were second on both the bars and floor. Jojo earned a 9.050 on bars and 9.200 on floor. Choi had a 9.000 on floor.

Choi and Lauren Young each had an 8.700 on the vault.

Kayleigh Troy had an 8.300 on the vault, Mary Locke an 8.850 on bars, and Addie Sullivan an 8.100 on bars.
