Thursday, February 13: 12:02 am, alarm, 61 Taunton Hill Road, Hawleyville responded; 12:51 am, motor vehicle accident, near intersection of Berkshire Road and Old Mill Road, Sandy Hook responded.

An 82-year-old woman who was driving a 2014 Toyota Camry sedan at the Walnut Tree Village housing complex off Walnut Tree Hill Road in Sandy Hook at about 11 am on February 5, inadvertently stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, resulting in the auto moving forward and striking and damaging a garage there, police said. There were no injuries. Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company firefighters were called to the scene. Temporary repairs were made to the structure to stabilize it.
