The Rev Steven Gordon, senior minister, will be preaching March 6 at the 10 am Lenten worship and communion service. Janice Touloukian, associate minister, will be assisting. The adult choir will assemble at 9 am to prepare the morning’s anthem under the direction of Mary Andreotta. Singers of all ages are invited to come, rehearse, and sing. Philip Crevier will be at the keyboards. The fourth Lenten Bible study will follow the service at 11:30 am and is based on the writings of Henri Nouwen. Rev Touloukian will lead the study. The second meeting for new members will be held following the worship service. The Men’s Fellowship will meet at 7:30 pm Sunday for the second hobby night. Presenters will be Bill Brett on Ship Model 1/72 scale Flower Class Corvette; Bob Shaw on model sailing ships; Lee Fields on sky diving, Sal Manganaro on airplane model Chance Vought Corsair; and Bill Watts on Christmas tree farming. All choir members and singers are invited to rehearse music for Holy Week on Thursday evenings, March 10 and 17. Rehearsals begin at 8 pm and run until 9:30 pm. Music will be for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Easter and will be directed by Ms Andreotta.

Sunday Services at 9 and 11 am in Alumni Hall, at the corner of Dr James Roach Avenue (formerly Seventh Avenue) and Roberts Avenue, on the campus of Western Connecticut State University. On Sunday, March 6, the two UU ministers, the Rev Chester McCall and the Rev Melanie Sullivan, who are leading the “Jubilee World” workshop this weekend, will work with Rev Linda Hansen and workshop participants to present a worship service, “Creating a Jubilee World,” reflecting insights about racisms and oppresssion and hopes of helping to create a more just community, especially in the greater Danbury area. Special music will be provided by the congregational choir. Those who cannot attend the workshop are encouraged to attend this service. Religious Education classes for pre-first through ninth grades meet at 9 am; the Senior High Youth Group meets at 11 and child care for young children is available during both services.
