George Albert Fischer
George Albert Fischer, 76, of 81 Mistletoe Drive, Southbury, died March 1 at his home. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Knudson) Fischer.
Mr Fischer was born November 13, 1927, in Franklin Square, Long Island, N.Y., son of the late Herman and Caroline (Snell) Fischer.
He was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II and retired in 1993 as a design engineer for Allied Signal Aerospace Corp.
He enjoyed woodworking and was a longtime resident of Southbury.
Besides his wife of 19 years, he leaves two daughters, Kathryn Milhaven of Newtown, and Ellen Nichele of Old Lyme; three stepdaughters, Anne Warner and Beth Cocca, both of Shelton, and Susan Codella of Terryville; two stepsons, Richard Wilber of Oxford, and Paul Wilber of Southbury; and 16 grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, March 6, at 10 am, at Sacred Heart Church, Main Street South, Southbury. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in the spring.
Calling hours will take place on Friday, March 5, from 6 to 8 pm, in the daily chapel of the church.
