Newtown High School’s wrestling team placed fourth among 145 squads at the New England Championships, in Providence, R.I., March 1 and 2.

Jake Maddox and Fisher Stites both placed third and Marc Maurath was fifth. Antonio Arguello also represented the Nighthawks in this event.

The week before, Maddox and Stites won State Open championships, Arguello and Maurath were second, and Jon DaSilva was third as the Nighthawks placed second among all Connecticut teams.
