Danbury Hospital

Daniel N. Fish, MD, an attending physician in the department of surgery, has been appointed to serve as a member of the Danbury Hospital Medical Staff Executive Committee, which sets the standards for the medical staff and oversees operations. A board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Brookfield Orthopedic Associates, PC, Dr Fish specializes in orthopedic sports medicine. He is a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine and a consultant reviewer for the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery. He graduated from the University of Rochester Medical School and completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Michigan. After his residency, he completed a Harvard University Sports Medicine Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Michael Z. Fein, DPM, has been selected by Connecticut Magazine as one of the top 15 podiatrists in the state of Connecticut. Dr Fein is chief of podiatric medicine and surgery at Danbury Hospital. He is board certified in foot surgery and is a former president of the Fairfield County Podiatric Medical Association. He established Bethel Podiatry in 1982 and is associated with the Danbury Foot and Ankle Center.

John R. Patrick of Ridgefield has been elected to the board of directors of the Danbury Health Systems for a three-year term. He is president of Attitude LLC and former vice president of internet technology at IBM, where he worked for 35 years.

New Milford

Maddalena DeRosa, MD, has joined the medical staff at New Milford Hospital and has opened a private practice specializing in internal medicine in New Milford. She graduated from the St Louis University Medical School, performed her residency at Yale Primary Internal Medicine program in New Haven and Waterbury. She is board-certified in internal medicine.

UConn Health Center

Claudio Benadiva, MD, and Donald Maier, MD, have been included in the Best Doctors in America, 2003-2004, making the list for the second consecutive year. Dr Benadiva is director of the in vitro fertilization laboratory. Dr Maier is chief of the division of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the health center. Both are board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, and infertility.

James F.X. Egan, MD, has been named vice chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the UConn Health Center. A maternal fetal medicine expert, he sees patients at the health center and manages all clinical facets of the health center’s general ob/gyn and maternal fetal medicine practices.
