State Representative Mitch Bolinsky shares that I-84 roadwork continues, and that a scheduled dental clinic has been canceled. He notes that there will be overnight work, March 18, on the Rochambeau Bridge.

“The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime bridge deck repairs will occur on I-84 westbound in Newtown, beginning at 10:30 pm tonight, Wednesday, March 18. Construction is scheduled to occur through 5 am tomorrow, Thursday, March 19.

“The project consists of repairs on the Housatonic bridge overpass, between Exits 14 and 11 in Newtown.”

Lane Closure Information

The right lane is expected to be closed between Exits 14-11 on I-84 westbound from 10:30 pm to 5 am. Traffic control signing patterns and crash units will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.

Free Dental Clinic Canceled

“In addition,” shared Rep Bolinsky, “I wanted to make you aware that, due to concerns about the coronavirus outbreak, the Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach and the Connecticut State Dental Association have decided to cancel the Connecticut Mission of Mercy (CTMOM) Free Dental Clinic scheduled for this Friday [in Danbury]. The clinic is a wonderful community event that brings together hundreds of dental and medical volunteers who provide cleanings, fluoride treatments, and many more services for free. I will update you should this event get rescheduled.”
