Music, Comedy And Magic All On Edmond Town Hall Calendar

Edmond Town Hall continues to expand its calendar of offerings beyond movie screenings many already know the historic location for. A concert, a magic show and comedy performances are all planned for upcoming weeks in addition to a special movie night at 45 Main Street.

Edmond Town Hall (ETH) will host the return of the popular Alpaca Gnomes for an electrifying performance on Saturday, March 30. After their unforgettable show two years ago, fans have eagerly awaited the opportunity to experience their unique blend of folk, rock, and soul once again.

Joining the Alpaca Gnomes on stage will be the talented Newtown High School students of Vertigo, set to kick off the evening’s festivities at 7 pm. Known for their infectious energy and impressive musical prowess, Vertigo promises to set the stage on fire with their opening act.

The Alpaca Gnomes will take center stage at 8, delivering a performance covering everything from soulful melodies to irresistible rhythms.

Guests can also enjoy an array of refreshments, including beer, wine, and concessions available for purchase throughout the evening.

‘Bridesmaids’ Movie Night

Readers are invited to get ready to laugh, cheer, and celebrate with their besties at the ultimate girls’ night out when ETH presents a special event featuring the beloved comedy film Bridesmaids on Friday, April 5. The night packed with fun, laughter, and prizes is sponsored by Expedia Cruises of Brookfield, Julie Allen Bridals of Newtown, and Jasmine Bridal.

The evening kicks off with a pre-game gathering at 6 pm at the beer and wine bar, where guests can mix and mingle with fellow Bridesmaids enthusiasts. A photo booth will also be part of the preshow offerings.

Contests begin at 7 pm, with guests invited to show off their most outrageous bridesmaid dress for the chance to win the coveted title of Ugliest Bridesmaid Dress. There will also be a Walk of Shame Contest, opportunities to reenact hilarious moments from the movie, and a contest seeking Melissa McCarthy impersonations with the title of Best Melissa McCarthy up for grabs.

Once the contests are over and the winners have been crowned, it will be time to sit back, relax, and enjoy a screening of Bridesmaids. Laugh along with Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and the rest of the hilarious cast as they navigate the ups and downs of friendship, love, and wedding planning in the 2011 comedy.

Illusionist Lyn Dillies

The following evening, ETH will host world-renowned illusionist Lyn Dillies, set to dazzle audiences with her mesmerizing magic. The captivating family show on Saturday, April 6, at 7 pm, promises an evening filled with wonder, excitement, and unforgettable moments for all ages!

Dillies is no ordinary magician; she is a master of illusion who has captivated audiences around the globe with her spellbinding performances. Readers should prepare to be astonished as she defies the laws of physics right before their eyes, leaving her guests questioning reality and craving more.

Lyn continues to amaze audiences with incredible illusions such as “Metamorphosis,” “The Window,” “Human Diffusion” and “The Twister,” to name just a few.

Comedy Series

The laughs continue on April 13 when Doug Smith takes the stage at 45 Main Street.

Lauren Auresto, Realtor-Better Homes and Gardens is the title sponsor for the 2024 Edmond Town Hall Comedy Series, which kicked off on March 16 with Kevin McCaffrey and continues with three additional shows.

Smith is a New York comic who has appeared on Conan, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, and This Is Not Happening on Comedy Central. He also starred in the Comedy Central mini-mock “Brooklyn Ball Barbers,” which has since become their most-viewed-video of all time.

Smith has also been featured at numerous comedy festivals including Oddball, Bridgetown, and Just for Laughs and his debut stand-up album, Barely Regal, is available on 800 Pound Gorilla Records.

Tickets are $25 and are available online or at the door. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

The comedy series will continue October 12 with Ophira Eisenberg and then November 16 with Anthony Devito.
