Susan A. Campbell, 72, of Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully at her home, with her granddaughter at her side, on March 27.

Born in Bridgeport to the late Raymond and Anne Cullen Campbell, Susan was a 1967 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Fairfield.

An employee with Michael’s Crafts in Brookfield for over 15 years, Susan was previously with Bradlees, Pitney-Bowes, and Korvettes.

A volunteer with TLC Sweet Souls Rescue in Newtown, Susan loved animals, including her five rescue dogs. She was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors; Susan enjoyed working in her yard as well as visits with her friends and family.

Besides her parents, Susan was predeceased by her daughter, Michelle L. Urbanowicz Welkes, who passed away in 2011; and her brothers Michael Campbell and Paul Campbell.

Susan is survived by her beloved granddaughter, Brittany Welkes and fiancé, Richard Eyman; her brothers, Raymond Campbell and his wife, Angie, and Peter Campbell and his wife, Ginny; her son-in-law, Henry Welkes; her nephew, Matthew Campbell; and a great-nephew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, March 31, at St Rose Church, Newtown. Burial will follow in St Rose Cemetery.
