Mae K. Staudinger, age 96, a former longtime resident of Sandy Hook, died Friday, March 27, 2020, at her home in Torrington. Mrs Staudinger was the wife of the late Henry Staudinger. She was born in Greenwich on June 29, 1923, a daughter of the late Edward A. and Helen A. (Lounsbury) Purdy.

For many years, she was an employee of the Southbury Training School until her retirement in 1975. She enjoyed gardening and loved all kinds of animals.

Mrs Staudinger is survived by a son, Henry E. Staudinger of Mineral, Va.; two daughters, Karen Conger of Sandy Hook and Bettyann Lupia and her husband, Richard, of Oxford; her caregiver the past four years, Jackie Bramwell; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Bobby Boy.

Funeral services and interment in Zoar Cemetery are private. There are no calling hours.
